My Approach…
Canyon 2          I take a holistic approach to therapy, concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of the individual and their family. I work with clients on partner relational issues, family of origin conflict, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and other issues in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. I practice Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other modalities depending upon the issues we are addressing.
I work with individuals who have been affected by abuse and trauma in their life, such as on-going emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. I also work with individuals who have experienced a one-time trauma, such as a car accident, rape, shooting, or other disturbing event. Frequently I use EMDR and/or Brainspotting when helping clients heal from their particular trauma. These approaches often can help them heal more quickly and provide lasting relief. You can learn more about these therapeutic modalities elsewhere in this website.
In addition, I help teens navigate the difficult transition between adolescence and adulthood, which often includes educating parents about the normal developmental stages during this period of time and providing them with the extra tools they may need to make their teen's transition into adulthood as easy as possible.
